This was written for the annual "I Love America" celebration in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, performed by the Shades Mountain Baptist orchestra. I wanted to take a different approach than the usual military march-like tempo and mood normally associated with this piece. This one starts out mysteriously and steadily builds to a huge conclusion. Commissioned by the East Cooper Baptist Church Orchestra, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Mike Doll, director. This was to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Music and Worship Pastor, Dean Henderson. This classic hymn, featuring the CORONATION hymn tune, was chosen because it is a favorite of Dean's. The arrangement begins with a driving 6/8 fanfare and keeps up the pace to its powerful conclusion. If you are looking for an attention getting opener - or an energetic closer - this is for you. There is enough challenge to delightfully engage all of your players (Grade 3+ to 4) and the arrangement has a strong rhythm section core featuring acoustic guitar, with parts for optional electric guitar - though all of those parts can be covered by piano/keyboard.

Commissioned by the Nashville Praise Symphony, this arrangement of the classic hymn starts mysteriously and gradually builds to a grand conclusion. Although written for a larger orchestra, it has cues galore for all solo parts, cues for harp, a keyboard string reduction and the ability to be performed by a somewhat less expansive ensemble.

Perhaps my best selling orchestra arrangement ever, this is from the Celebration Series published by LifeWay (product #005013403). It's been described as "the hymnal meets 'The Magnificent Seven'" and has a definite western energy that pervades the piece. This one is fun to play, will make almost any group sound great (difficulty level about Grade 3) and your congregation/audience will also really enjoy it. The hymn text speaks of the joy we have in extolling the greatness of God and the music matches the text effectively.
